KINKY BOOTS' Natalie Joy Johnson to Launch Cabaret Residency at The Duplex

Current Broadway Kinky Boots cast member Natalie Joy Johnson begins three month cabaret residency at The Duplex with the new show, "An Evening In Natalie Joy Johnson". The first performance begins Monday, October 19th @ 9:30pm.

After over four years of rocking out their hit weekly show, "Co-Depedent" at the gay midtown hot spot Therapy Bar & Grille, Natalie Joy Johnson and musical director Brian Nash are bringing their own specific brand of musical crazy downtown to the Duplex. Known for their unique arrangements and musical "Nash-ups" as well as their ridiculous humor and lots of heart, Natalie and Brian are looking forward to debuting new material in the intimate upstairs cabaret room. They will be joined by musician and friend to the show Joel Waggoner.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and are available online at There is a two drink minimum. The Duplex is located at 61 Christopher Street in New York's West Village.

Natalie Joy Johnson can currently be seen 8 times a week as Pat in the 2013 Tony Award Winning Musical - Kinky Boots. Other theatre credits include both Paulette Buonofante (National Tour) and Enid Hoopes (Original Broadway Cast) in Legally Blonde: the Musical, as well as bare: a pop opera (Nadia), Southern Comfort (Cori) and Silence! The Musical. Natalie is an accomplished cabaret artist, selling out shows at Joe's Pub, 54 Below, Feinstein's at Lowe's Regency, & Ars Nova. Her one woman show Full Bush earned her an Outstanding Individual Performance Award for the 2013 NYMF Season.

Brian J. Nash was most recently the Music Director of the pre-Broadway tryout of the musical Beaches at Drury Lane and Music Director and Orchestrator of the off-Broadway hit, SILENCE! The Musicaland produced Bare at New World Stages. Other recent and upcoming theater projects include Kathy Najimy's Lift Up Your Skirt (off-Broadway, 2016), Mother Courage and Her Children (Classic Stage, with Duncan Sheik) , The Last 5 Years (Actor's Theater of Louisville, Asolo Rep), Crossing Brooklyn (Transport Group), and Writing Arthur at NAMT (with Kelli O'Hara and Ana Gasteyer). He is the resident musical director for Atlantis Events, for whom he has conducted concerts with Deborah Cox, Andy Bell of Erasure, Mandy Gonzales, and many others. Brian has produced albums for singer/songwritersJustin TranterShanna Sharp, and Stacy Allyn Baker, He recently performed at Town Hall, the Kennedy Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Birdland with Natalie Douglas, and produced and music directed Kate Pazakis' debut album, Unzipped: Live at the Zipper for PS Classics. Brian is in extensive demand as a pianist and singer throughout NYC and has played sold out concerts of the music of Tori Amos, including the recent Broadway Sings Tori, featuring Laura Benanti and Lena Hall. His first solo album, Forever/After was released in May, 2015, and is available on iTunes. Joel Waggoner holds an M.F.A. from NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and currently works as a composer, performer, vocal coach, musical director, and violinist. Barrington Stage Company commissioned Joel to write Presto Change-O (Book/Lyrics by Eric Price), which is slated to have a full production this summer. As an actor/musician, he was most recently seen in Southern Comfort (Barrington Stage Co., CAP21, NAMT). His works have been performed at 54 Below, Birdland, Joe's Pub, Merkin Recital Hall, Lincoln Center, Barrington Stage Co., Goodspeed Operahouse, Musical Theater Factory, New Voices in Seattle, and Playwrights Horizons. Currently, he is serving as the Director of Music for the Pace University Musical Theatre BFA Program. 2012 Dramatist Guild Fellow. 2009 ASCAP Max Dreyfus Award Winner.
